Technology Project Engineer

About The Role

The Technology Project Engineer is a newly created role working within our Asset Management Technology team. This role will be supporting new and existing operational projects in the Technology space.
 

Working closely with operations, contractors and suppliers, our Technology Project Engineer provides project engineering, management and operational technology (OT) expertise for our open-cut, underground and processing operations.

You will be involved in all phases of technology project management from assessment through to implementation and project close-out. Providing effective management of project deliverables whilst maintaining asset integrity, minimising production losses, and increasing capability and performance of our operational systems.
 

This role is based in our Newcastle office, however this role will require site visits and travel for 2-5 days at a time, once or twice a month as an essential part of the role.
 

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate closely with operations, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the effective management of project deliverables.
• Review and challenge project designs, costs, scopes, schedules, engineering, change management, and execution plans to identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Participate in regular progress meetings, change management, monitoring, and reporting on project delivery, including cost and schedule.
• Ensure that project outcomes are validated through factory and site acceptance testing, installation review, commissioning sign-off, QA/QC checks, and other relevant review and approval processes.

What You’ll Bring 

• Relevant Engineering Degree or significant industry experience
• Technology related skills and qualifications plus a track record of delivering projects
• Proven experience working with operational technology in a mining or processing environment (highly desirable)
• In-depth knowledge of process control networks or automation
• Experience with spreadsheets, databases & schedules
• Strong skills in change management analysis and stakeholder communication
