About the role

We are looking for a Technology Risk Advisor to lift IS&Ts risk maturity through identification and design of risk management best practice. This is achieved through the support and coaching of senior leaders across IS&T, as well as collaboration with centre of excellence to ensure that risk management concerns are integrated into the operations of IS&T. This role will also be integral in shaping and delivering the Integrated Risk Management initiative for IS&T.

Key accountabilities of the role

Advice and coaching

Form relationships with key leaders to advise on obligations and approaches for managing their risk, as a technical expert in risk management.

Attend key business planning forums, facilitate, and lead conversations concerning strategic, operational and financial risks.

Contribute expertise in IT and Technology programs to Risk area of excellence forums to ensure that technology is considered in Rio Tinto’s risk standard.

Lead core service delivery

Lead the coordination and execution of cyber governance services, ensuring that all leaders in the region are supported.

Drive adherence of the Risk Management Standard for the region, coaching leaders on design, interpretation, application, and the use of ARCHER.

On-board, coach and advise all local risk coordinators and risk, control and action owners. Proactively oversee regional risk management activity.

Communicate the value of risk, assurance and compliance to leader and design local practices to ensure effort invested is value adding.

Oversee risk analysis, evaluation and management response, escalating issues and opportunities to appropriate governance forums.

Support risk and assurance activities with Risk area of excellence and in other regions as necessary.

Drive risk maturity uplift

Achieve a risk maturity uplift from driving rigorous adoption of the risk management standard and developing adaptations as required.

Implement applicable frameworks and standards such as the IS&T Controls Framework (COBIT based), GPICS and the Cyber Security Framework (NIST based), Cyber Technical Standards to shape IS&Ts risk roadmap. 

Lead continuous improvement initiatives with respect to IS&Ts risk architecture, use of Archer, and design of management responses.

Design IS&Ts target-state risk, assurance and compliance environment, leveraging knowledge of industry trends in the space of Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) practices.
