Technology Site Specialist Roving
Work Location: Various Sites across the Pilbara
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO ex Perth
the role is responsible for the ongoing Technology support for multiple sites and camps in the Pilbara.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Log all issues in the ITSM toolset (Service Now) and liaise and communicate Technology related work to the business representative of the designated site.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
- Create, develop, and update support documentation for the site (Orion), raise issues or suggestions for improvements to support documentation where possible with peers or other IT teams.
- Act as an escalation point amongst peers, providing peer support and guidance where possible, coordinate work at site when delegated by other Technology teams.
- Work autonomously and be accountable for site Technology, this includes, Desktop, Servers, Radio Comms, Networking and Software queries
- Be accountable for all site printers and be point of contact for Canon service engineers
- Relocation of offices and office equipment, which includes setting up comms racks and installing Cisco switches and Wi-Fi AP’s
- Point of contact for all Telstra queries across the site about 4G and 3G connectivity
- Familiar with Microwave Communication Technology
- Manage all aspects of Technology queries across the sites from a varied customer base
- Site based procurement and stock management on a daily basis for end users
- Liaise with Project Management team based in Perth and carry out site surveys and feed information back to Perth project teams and Technology teams
- Provide on-call after hours support as required of the role.
- Provide support for all Technology Services for which Fortescue Technology & Autonomy have an operational responsibility at site
- Always maintain polite and courteous relations with end users and vendor support
- Strive to excel by meeting or exceeding the Service Level Objectives and Targets
- Working within the Technology site support teams and other IT support functions to share knowledge and workload where possible.
Qualifications and skills required
- Minimum 5 years of IT operational experience, covering standard office applications, operating systems, and networking
- Certificate in Cisco and Ubiquiti Technologies (Desirable)
- Experience in the following Technology Systems would be advantageous; Microsoft Suites, Microsoft AD, Microsoft Azure AD, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Switches and Routers, Ubiquiti Networking Systems, Digital Radio (DRS), Network and Servers, CCTV, Banlaw Fuel Systems, and site security access system.
- Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues
- Familiarity with mining Operations Technology, Digital Radio, ServiceNow, SAP, and Communication Networks
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
- Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.
- Proven track record in providing support to a diverse and busy environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology Networking, or related experience
- Strong time management & organisational skills, able to prioritise & multitask
- Proven IT change management, incident, and problem management skills
- Australian C class driver’s license manual
- Working at Heights, Confined Space and First Aid training (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of ServiceNow and Asset Management (desirable)
- 4WD Cert
