About the role

We are looking for a Technology Support Engineer who will provide technical support and governance for all Komatsu AHS applications deployed throughout Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Pilbara operations. As the preferred candidate of this role, you will act as the interface between sites, Operation Centre based customers and the technology vendors, to ensure both ongoing user requirements are being delivered and will also ensure that the Komatsu AHS technologies at the different sites are performing as expected. You will also be point of contact for customer engagement, for system and hardware issues, understanding customer needs and provide performance improvement support.
Reporting to the Superintendent Mining Systems, some of your responsibilities including but not limited to:
- General Support - Point of contact for all AHS Frontrunner, Dispatch, system and system hardware issues, initiate and facilitate support relationship with OEM and RTIO
- Continuous Improvement - Analyse AHS System related CI items and contribute to RTIO CI team discussions for ranking and communication to the OEM (KAL, KLtd) to consider in future releases
- Database Management - Assist with scope of database replication and ensure source data is available to down steam replication servers
- Relationship management – Provide technical and customer support for Komatsu AHS system to both internal and external vendors, management of change, provide Komatsu AHS system hardware support and incident management support
- Komatsu AHS System Deployments - Assist with scope, installation guides, recommendations & documentation, provide installation practice improvements., analyse OEM release notes, and participate in User Acceptance tests on site to confirm safety systems functionality
- Alarm Management - Manage automated alerts to targeted groups both OEM and RTIO to notify of unexpected truck, system, and server events.
- Administrative duties such as Komatsu AHS system issue resolution, Zendesk ticket platform management, review, and distribution of Komatsu Flash News to RTIO and document management
What you’ll bring
- Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Several years of experience in Mining
- Experience in Komatsu Front Runner and DISPATCH 6
- Good understanding of network technology, server and VM architecture
- SQL database management
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence to operate at all levels of the business
