We are looking for a Technology & Systems Lead – Learning Excellence to oversee the design, delivery and deployment of best-in-class technology, metrics and reporting solutions to the Capability Development function that will support an integrated onboarding and ongoing learning delivery model and meets the needs of our Iron Ore business. Your role will support development and implementation of initiatives from concept to delivery including developing and managing project scopes, plans, budgets, resources, change management, communication and stakeholders, plans, work packages, milestones, and project reporting.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning Excellence, you will play an important role in supporting the design, development and deployment of technology solutions, metrics and reporting, quality project and change management and stakeholder engagement. 

You will: 

  • Liaise with the people function and our operational teams to conduct needs evaluations, which support and incorporate business objectives, strategies, and policies, specifically related to capability development metrics & reporting.
  • Proactively identify, coordinate and lead improvement in our systems, metrics and reporting services.
  • Manage and develop the performance of the team in line with Rio Tinto’s company values, to achieve objectives. 
  • Participate as a team member / subject matter expert on learning and development projects.
  • Identify opportunities for development and rationalisation of systems and services and the adoption of a common / consistent approach to learning and development across the business.
  • Support the development of applications and utilisation of technology to digitise processes to increase efficiencies within the learning excellence and broader capability development team.
  • Manage and coordinate co-design phase activities including documenting requirements, current state analysis, future state analysis, prioritisation, and user centric experience mapping.
  • Manage data extraction, cleansing, migration and archiving.

In addition, this role will maintain a focus on continuous improvement opportunities by evaluating technology and learning solutions and supporting capability uplift initiatives. 

What you’ll bring 

As a people focused leader, you will have demonstrated experience in the development of technology solutions, metrics, and reporting with a focus on articulating business value. A strong skillset in people, project, and stakeholder management, with the ability to operate at both a tactical/operational and strategic level concurrently to ensure the solution is relevant “on-the-ground” but also fits the overall strategic intent of learning. 

We're looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in managing internal communication and messaging coupled with demonstrated experience in delivering through others in a matrix organisational structure without formal authority. 

From a project and change management perspective, you're experienced in agile methodologies – design thinking, persona led journeys, have experience developing use cases in conjunction with strong understanding of learning (business) processes with experience managing change within large complex organisations.
