We are seeking an Advisor Tenure to join the State Agreements and Approvals team within Rio Tinto Iron Ore. This role will assist with ensuring land tenure, operations, assets and infrastructure (current and future) are protected to ensure the continued operation and growth of Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s business in WA.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who possesses the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, maintain flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions and work collaboratively with other business units. Working a 5 days on / 2 off roster and reporting to the Tenure Superintendent, you will:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to land access requests
- Participate in third party negotiations in relation to third party land access matters
- Provide advice and pragmatic solutions to tenure issues in relation to tenure, land access and related negotiations and strategy
- Assist with drafting of access deeds and letters of consent
- Perform general administration duties which include document control, scanning, filing, coordinating meetings and taking minutes
- Complying with all HSEQ systems, chairing of and contribution to team and safety meetings
What you’ll bring
- Experience working with the Western Australian Mining Act, Land Administration Act or State Agreement Act or associated processes
- Proven experience in a role where accuracy and timeliness are paramount
- Strong attention to detail, experience with stakeholder negotiations, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to understand complex issues, develop well-reasoned analysis and deliver solutions or recommendation
- A tertiary qualification in contracts/commercial/legal is highly regarded
- Negotiation or third-party engagement experience
- Experience using Mineral Titles Online, WAMEX and LANDGATE
- Exposure to TENGRAPH, ArcGIS or similar mapping systems

Where you’ll be working
You will be based out of our Perth CBD office based in the Central Park building. We do offer flexible working arrangements and the option to work from home once training is completed.
