Test Engineer - Products and Prototypes

Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport, WA

Roster: Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and understanding test requirements
  • Devising testing plans and procedures
  • Hands-on building and supervision of prototypes
  • Executing testing as well as gathering and reporting test data
  • Formal reporting of issues and findings
  • Preparation of test procedures and plans
  • Automating the test reporting system
  • Manual execution and data reporting of some test cases
  • Problem solving day to day issues
  • Raising issues or the requirement for design changes to the engineering team where required
  • Participating in traceability activities
  • Design and development of testing equipment
  • Working with the design team to convert prototypes to manufacturable parts based on test results
  • Participating in design life cycle improvement programs

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in testing software and/ or hardware systems
  • Tertiary qualifications is highly regarded, but not essential; further training and support will be provided
  • Experience in requirements analysis, traceability and creating, executing and reporting testing outcomes to engineering in a highly professional manner
  • Understanding of basic engineering workflows and System Development Life Cycle
  • Contribute effectively towards the objectives of the team and share knowledge, ideas and information
  • Well-developed problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve problems in a measured and creative way
  • Some experience in prototypes and design for manufacture (Advantageous)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping manufacturing using CNC Machines/Routers, Laser Cutters, Water Jet Cutting and Injection Moulding (Advantageous)
