Yarrabee have an opportunity for a trade qualified carpenter to join the team!

About the Role

The “Town Services Tradesperson” will be part of a team responsible for the proficient operation of Yarrabee’s Town Services working a Monday – Friday roster.

Duties will include, but not limited to conducting repairs and maintenance on Yarrabee’s domestic properties located in Blackwater. 

This also includes, being responsible for WH&S for your working area, working alongside contractors operating in the area of responsibility, ensuring compliance to relevant codes and standards and ensuring compliance with local government regulations.

About You

We seek applicants who possess the following attributes and qualifications:-

• Sound verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues.
• Able to model professional behaviour at all times with a positive attitude and willingness to assist.
• Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required.
• Ability to manage your own time in order to meet deadlines.
• Sound understanding of risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety performance.
• Experience and/or general knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Building repair/maintenance, carpentry, painting, tiling, plumbing.
• Proven experience to think quickly and problem solving.
• Detailed understanding of WH&S legislation and requirements.

Qualifications:

• Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface) (or willing to obtain)
• Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
• Qualified carpenter or other trade (Preferred)
• General Construction Induction – White Card or Blue Card
