Track Machine Operator Advanced
Work Location: Hedland Operations – Rail. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 14D/14R – FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Supervisor Track Machine, you will be responsible for ensuring Fortescue's Tracks are well maintained by undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance activities, enabling a high availability of the rail corridor whilst minimizing delays due to track geometry faults.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Maintain and repair track geometry faults within mainline track Turnouts Mainline Track and infrastructure equipment
- Undertake all tasks and activities in a safe and competent manner in accordance with relevant safe working procedures
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with the appropriate policies, procedures and standards to ensure operations efficiency is maximised
- Model positive safety behaviours by promptly reporting safety hazards and incidents
- Regularly review maintenance procedures and make recommendations for improvement to Supervisor and Superintendent
- Resolve issues in consultation with Supervisor and actively participate in meetings, training and HR processes as required
- Coach and share knowledge with others in areas of expertise
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experienced in Plasser Track Machine operation.
- Operating other Track maintenance equipment such as: Wheel loaders, Forklifts
- Able to meet requirements for Level 3 Safe working including taking track possession and communicating with relevant train controllers.
- Strong reporting skills and a high level of computer literacy
- Experience within the resources sector is desirable
- HR driver’s license required
