Track Maintenance Technician Experienced
Work Location: Port Hedland
Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people
Roster: 14 days on, 14 days off FIFO Ex Perth
Reporting to the Supervisor Track Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring Fortescue's Tracks are well maintained by undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance activities, enabling a high availability of the rail corridor whilst minimizing delays due to track faults.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Maintain and repair faults within Turnouts Mainline Track and infrastructure equipment.
- Undertake all tasks and activities in a safe and competent manner in accordance with relevant safe working procedures.
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with the appropriate policies, procedures and standards to ensure operations efficiency is maximized.
- Model positive safety behaviours by promptly reporting safety hazards and incidents.
- Regularly review maintenance procedures and make recommendations for improvement to Supervisor and Superintendent
- Resolve issues in consultation with Supervisor and actively participate in meetings, training and HR processes as required.
- Coach and share knowledge with others in areas of expertise
- Able to meet Fortescue's values.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experienced in Track Maintenance
- Operating Track maintenance equipment such as: Wheel loaders, Pettibones, Rail saws, Switch grinders
- Able to meet requirements for Level 2 Safeworking including taking track possession and communicating with relevant train controllers.
- Strong reporting skills and a high level of good computer literacy
- Experience in Perway works is desirable.
- Experience within the resources sector is desirable.
- HR license required.
