Trade Assistant - Dispatch and Receivals

We are seeking a self-motivated Trade Assistant who has a background in Dispatch and Receivals to join our busy Forrestfield Fabrication Workshop.

What your day looks like:

Receivals (Inbound Logistics)

  • Unload incoming goods from trucks, containers, and other delivery vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Carefully inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues.
  • Accurately count and verify received items against purchase orders and delivery dockets.
  • Record all received goods into the management system (GP) Great Panes.
  • Label and tag items with identifying information.
  • Safely move and put away received stock to their designated storage locations using appropriate equipment (e.g. forklift).
  • Report any receiving discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.

Dispatch (Outbound Logistics)

  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately according to sales orders.
  • Securely package goods to prevent damage during transit, selecting appropriate packaging materials in accordance with COR.
  • Weigh, measure, and label outbound packages with correct TRF labels and documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers (e.g., Logistics)
  • Load outbound trucks and vehicles safely and efficiently, optimizing space and ensuring load stability.
  • Generate and verify all necessary shipping documents, including PO’s and TRF
  • Update GP to reflect order statuses.
  • Communicate any dispatch delays or issues to the relevant teams.

General Duties:

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely and responsibly (certification required).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in full stocktakes.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and OH&S/WHS regulations.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas.
  • Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What we need from you:

  • 1-2 years proven experience in a similar warehouse, receivals, or dispatch role.
  • Earth Moving experience.
  • Valid forklift license (LF).
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and using inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (GP, SAP, Ariba)
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures, carrier requirements, and freight documentation.
  • Current driver's license.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening, and provide a current National Police Check.
