Due to company growth Macmahon is seeking a Trade Development Trainer to join our Learning and Development team based in Queensland in a full-time capacity.  The role is responsible for the coordination of both on and off the job training specifically around our site-based apprentices.  This position plays a vital role in support our tradespeople and maintenance team members development and advancing Macmahon’s apprentices and trainees careers and therefore contributing to their success.  The role will encompass:

  • Support of trades and maintenance personnel with core Macmahon training programs
  • Coaching and training of apprentices and maintenance trainees in operational training
  • Support apprentices and trainees learning on the job after their RTO sessions
  • Coordination of on-the-job training simulation for apprentices 
  • Attending of site -based Toolbox and Safety meetings
  • Be involved with the selection, support and facilitation of apprentices and maintenance trainees

About you

  • Mechanical trade qualification
  • Hold a current Cert IV in Training and Assessing
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to Microsoft programs
  • High level of interpersonal skills with project planning and group leadership ability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously for extended periods of time.
  • Have undertaken at least 3 years’ experience as a supervisory tradesperson or minimum 2 years leading hand position.
  • Competence in Hydraulics and schematic reading and interpretation.
  • Electrical systems and interpretation of types of schematics. 
  • Assembly and disassembly procedures, and how to access the information.
  • Knowledge in the use of Caterpillar programs, ET, SISWEB. VIMS pc.
