Trades Assistant

Macmahon is currently seeking experienced Trade Assistant to join the Macmahon Tropicana team. These positions will be on a continuous day and night on a 2:1 roster, flying from Perth. You will be part of a high energy team so possession of multiple skill sets and licenses/ qualifications will be highly regarded as they will greatly enhance your versatility within the role. Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, Trades Assistant assists the tradesmen to perform all duties in compliance with Macmahon processes and procedures. 

Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

• Collecting tools, equipment and parts for tradesmen;
• Providing general assistance to tradesmen;
• Ensuring that time sheets are done daily and are correct for the job you were doing on the day
• Embracing and support the maintenance department‘s planning strategy regarding work order management and defect elimination; 
• Ensuring work is carried out in given time frames and satisfactory level of quality that minimises the chance of subsequent faults and reworks; and 
• Operating a crane as required. 

About you: 

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within mine site environment;
• Current High Risk Work License with forklift, (LF, RA, CN); 
• Ability to work independently as well as a part of the team; 
• Great interpersonal and communication skills;
• Demonstrating commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values; and 
• Current HR Class Drivers License.

Should you be successful in being offered a role in Macmahons’ Surface Mining Division, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
