ABOUT ILLAWARRA METALLURGICAL COAL

Illawarra Metallurgical Coal is a long term and leading coking coal supplier which operates two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time permanent position, working 12-hour shifts nightshift only.

Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will be accountable for executing work activities in relation to operating and maintaining the coal preparation plant and the broader WCCPP site.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Complete plant inspections and monitoring of the coal preparation process
• Carrying out sampling and testing
• Problem diagnosis and resolution, including process and mechanical issues
• Utilising the SAP system to requisition spares and equipment, and to raise notifications
• Carry out routine planned mechanical maintenance activities and attend to breakdowns
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and hazards
• Responding to incidents and injuries as part of the field response team

ABOUT YOU

You will have previous experience working in a similar role ideally at a Coal Preparation Plant.

In addition you will have:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter)
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Hydraulics 1 & 2 (MEM18020B / MEM18021B) will be highly regarded
• Workcover Dogging Licence will be highly regarded
• Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications will also be highly regarded
• A good work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations and constantly push for results

LOCATION

This position will be at the West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant (WCCPP) which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
