Job Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Risk
- Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
- Diagnose and repair equipment efficiently and consistently adhering to requiring standards of work
- Inspect work area and equipment for hazards, damage and defects prior to commencing work
- Ensure all materials are used and all waste is disposed in a environmentally friendly way
- Make use of workshop manuals/operation manuals when required
Technical/Operational
- Fit, service and repair alternators, starter motors and air conditioning units
- Report any items that cannot be repaired via the work order system or documented on check sheets, this still requires the Leading Hand/Supervisor to be notified
- Complete test tag for all tasks
- Assist in equipment appraisals to ensure scoping of repairs
- Review machine conditions for any required updates
- Service and repair heavy earthmoving equipment as per job scopes
- Ensure that the Supervisors’ daily record is kept up to date
- Make use of workshop manuals/operation manuals when required
- Repair and service mining equipment both in workshop and out in field when required on breakdowns
- Able and willing to conduct other tasks when required
Commercial/Financial
- Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework
- Demonstrate an awareness of costs and financial impacts of the work
Team Contribution
- Communicate clearly and keep the Supervisor aware of the state of equipment in the mine in particular with respect to potential problem areas and downtime
- Ensure a clear hand-over is completed cross-shift
