About the role

We are looking for a Railways – Train Control Systems Senior Application Support Analyst to provide support for critical control systems across rail including the AutoHaul™, Train Control (Phoenix H CTC), Wayside Asset Protection devices, GPS, Tibco EMS and Networks communications.
This role is a great opportunity to enable the team’s service delivery, service support and improvement project execution around the Rail Control Systems.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
This is a permanent position based at the Perth Operations Centre, reporting to the Superintendent Integrated Systems. You will be:
- Supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting rail application systems and services
- Troubleshooting network and complex system integrations
- Responding to critical condition monitoring alarms and carrying out recovery actions to restore systems back to normal operation
- Managing incidents with relevant stakeholders and support groups
- Supporting project delivery and scheduled preventative maintenance activities
About you
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Interpersonal skills; engaging with stakeholders in a production critical environment
- System and Functional safety, ideally within the mining sector
- Change, incident and demand management best practise
- TIBCO Enterprise Messaging (EMS) and/or Tibco Business Works (BW) experience
- Tertiary degree in IT/Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant industry experience
- Red Hat Linux and Windows experience
- Application & Control Systems Support in production critical and integrated environments.
- Software development and/or scripting experience desired (Bash, Bat, PowerShell, VBS, Python).
- Data Analytics, familiar with PowerBi
- Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database queries
- Understanding network architecture, topology diagrams and Cyber security best practise
- Australian “C” Class manual drivers’ license

In the control room, sitting next to the train controllers in our state-of-the-art Operations Centre (OC) located near the Perth domestic airport.
