About the Role

BHP Iron Ore's Integrated Production and Remote Operations (IPRO) team manages the Iron Ore supply chain via scheduling, forecasting, deviation management, controlling and inventory accounting across mine, rail and port operations. 

With an over-arching focus on safety, the IPRO team brings dedication, innovation and values to execute and improve productivity, safety and environmental impact. We drive to embrace new technologies such as automation to lead our industry globally. 

A Logistics Scheduler is accountable for coordinating the movement of product from mine stockpile to the ship hatch through the WAIO logistics chain with a specific focus on enabling the business to recover from unplanned operational events.

Reporting to the Supervisor Deviation Management, you will play an integral role by:

  • Maintaining an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. 
  • Ensure supply and demand is achieved through the development, publishing and communicating of short term logistics schedules, and through monitoring of daily operational performance against plan across mine, rail and port
  • Actively managing the schedule during the shift, by applying knowledge of the inflow and outflow system and operating philosophies in place, and through contingency plans based on risk assessments to maximise supply chain performance by managing supply chain buffers.
  • Ensure supply chain losses through unplanned events are minimised by developing and communicating appropriate supply chain recovery plans with key stakeholders.
  • Provides data and information for the next shift and for the business by monitoring and recording performance against schedule and by flagging issues likely to impact in the short term horizon.
  • Ensures all relevant personnel stakeholders are aware of the detailed requirements and any changes during the shift through regular communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and systems to improve the logistic planning and scheduling processes through special project work.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘Brookfield Place’ 125St George’s Terrace, you will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
