About the Role
At BMA Hay Point Terminal, we are looking for adaptable, positive, individuals who are open to exploring the world of Rail whilst learning something new every day. As a BMA Rail Trainee Driver you will be trained in how to operate modern rolling stock within Safe Working practices to ensure the safe, reliable and on time delivery of coal from BMA Mine sites to the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal. It is critical that you perform all duties in accordance with Network Rules, Regulations and Safe Operating Procedures. Working on a 24/7 shift roster, your role will consist of Safe operation of locomotives including mainline and yard operations, basic train examination competencies, loading and unloading coal trains on the Goonyella Network.
Previous Rail operational experience will be considered advantageous for these roles.
These roles are residential only - open to residents of the Mackay area. Please note accommodation and travel is not provided for these positions.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
• The ability to maintain high standards of safety, and compliance with specific tasks and procedures
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Motivation to learn and develop new skills
• A proven commitment to safety with confidence to speak up about at risk behaviours.
• The ability to foster a teamwork atmosphere within your work group
• Unrestricted Open C Class Manual Driver’s License
• Strong computer skills
