About the role:  We are currently seeking 2x Trainee Warehouse Technicians to join our Coppabella/Moorvale mine sites. Our Coppabella Moorvale joint Venture complex consists of 3 open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Peabody will provide full training for the successful candidates entering a 24 month Traineeship which will incorporate the relevant competencies to be obtained within a 56 week period.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the scope of this role is to develop the successful candidate in all warehousing functions for the site ensuring all such activities are carried out in accordance with industry, company and site policies and procedures.

Duties will include:

  • Receive day-to-day direction from the team to ensure delivery against plans; Ensure service level is in line with Operational needs and expectations
  • Engage in routine management off cycle count program to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained and SOX compliance is achieved
  • Engage in routine management of Rotable and Repairable materials to ensure optimal stock availability
  • Learn core functions associated with routine running of the warehouse as required; e.g. Receipt, Dispatch, Reservation Management etc
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and provide constructive feedback to peers on a regular basis

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 7/7 day/night roster and can allow residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:

  • Preferably enrolled or studying a Certificate iii in Supply Chain Operations and Warehousing
  • Proactive approach to safety and safety management
  • Current motor vehicle driver’s license; 
  • Forklift license desirable
  • Familiar using ERP system (SAP preferred) with basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite of programs, desirable but not required
  • Some experience in maintenance warehousing desirable
  • Ability to prioritise work during peak periods in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Reliable Self-Starter
