About the Role

Are you a current In Field Trainer or Site Trainer with a mining operations back ground with a mixture of the below desired qualifications and experience?  We are seeking a Trainer to join our FutureFit Academy in Mackay for our New to Industry Traineeship team. The role is based in Mackay, with some site works and has an even time 7 day shift 7 day off roster undertaking classroom based training in our BHP facilities.

Desired qualifications & experience:

  • RII30120 Certificate III in surface extraction
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • RII mining machine competencies required  – RD truck/ watercart 
  • RII mining machine competencies desired  – dozer, grader, excavator
  • Simulator training experience
  • Classroom based teaching experience
  • Previous RTO traineeship experience
  • Contributes to the analysis, benchmarking and internal audit of Maintenance function’s end-to-end performance and coordinates the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives.

About You

You will:

  • Deliver traineeship based training materials to groups of New to Industry trainees under a Certificate III in Surface extraction;
  • Conduct Verification of Competencies for large mining Production equipment to ensure new team members are competent and authorised to work;
  • Review performance and implement training in line with business drivers;
  • Contribute to the design of training plans and support colleagues close any training gaps;
  • Ensure training materials are maintained in line with business and industry standards;
  • Work with team members to adhere to RTO requirements and course completion requirements
  • Coach and mentor team members on how to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions relating to standardised work.

You will demonstrate:

  • Solid experience as a Trainer Assessor or In Field Trainer within the resources sector and meet AQF Levels.
  • Have a current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment - preferably the TAE40116 or working towards achieving this.
  • Hold the relevant licences
  • Mining Production Operational experience in multiple equipment classes
  • Have maintained currency with the plant/equipment and work activities in which you train/assess.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work autonomously.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and facilitate presentations; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach to improve performance and upskill.
