Work Location: Fortescue’s Trade Training Centre which resides at Cloudbreak Mine Site located on the Traditional Lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli Peoples
Roster: 8D6R, FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
Fortescue is currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Trainer & Assessor Heavy Mobile Equipment to join their Trade Training Team to deliver accredited TAFE Training in Cert III Mobile Plant Equipment and Cert II Servicing to both Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices along with the development, validation, moderation of Training Assessment Plans (TAP), Training Assessment Strategies (TAS) and learning/resource material. Reporting directly to the Trade Training Supervisor, you will provide critical and ongoing support/assistance to the Trade Training Team including Supervisor Apprentices, Trade Training Supervisors, other Lecturers and Administrators in the facilitation of TAFE Training to Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices within Fortescue’s Apprenticeship Program in a multitude of trade disciplines. You will be relied on for your organisation, positive attitude, diligence and proactiveness
In collaboration other Lecturers, this Trainer and Assessor position will be responsible for development, delivery, assessment and resulting of accredited unit of competencies (UoC) in both the Cert III Mobile Plant Equipment and Cert II Servicing qualifications. The ideal candidate would best suit a highly organised candidate with a solid Registered Training Organisation (RTO) training development and delivery skill set, with experience working in an Apprenticeship/Traineeship/Accredited Training environment. A candidate with strong knowledge of the Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Analytics (Power BI or Tableau) and communication apps (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype etc.) would be highly regarded
Key accountabilities will include:
- Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Trade Training Centre including, but not limited to, reviewing and updating processes/procedure and general maintenance of the facility
- Design, develop, validate and moderate Training Assessment Plans (TAP), Training Assessment Strategies (TAS), assessment, learning/resource materials including future qualifications being implemented along with resulting
- Ensuring your Training Delivery Schedule is available a minimum of 12 months prior to training being conducted and is approved by the Superintendent Trade Apprenticeships including details of what is being delivered and the attendees
- Assist in the delivery of comprehensive Workshop and Apprenticeship/Pre-Apprenticeship inductions and familiarisations and delivery of Professional Development Trade Relevant courses to internal Tradespersons within Fortescue to ensure we are upskilling out internal workforce
- Undertake audits and safety processes as required
Qualifications and skills required:
- Trade Qualified with a Certificate III in Heavy Mobile Equipment or Trade Qualified with a Certificate III in Automotive Electrical (Highly desirable)
- Hold Certificate III Training and Assessment TAE40116, Forklift, Dogging and Overhead Crane qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar level position within a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Experience in developing and delivering accredited training and conducting operations in accordance with the ASQA/TAC/RTO framework
- Experience in the day-to-day management of training workshops including the supervision and mentoring of teams of 10+
- Have worked for an RTO or having RTO experience (Highly desirable)
