12 month contract

 

Work Location:  Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples. 

 

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

 

As Fortescue continues to drive innovation and transform the future of mining, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Trainer & Assessor with extensive Ore Processing Facility (OPF) operational experience to join our Training Team on a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract.

 

Based at Western Hub on an 8/6 roster, you will play a key role in supporting our operational teams by delivering high-quality training, conducting competency assessments, and ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge to operate safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver OPF operational training and competency assessments.
  • Conduct Fortescue-specific training, inductions, and Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom and practical training sessions.
  • Support operational leaders by maintaining high training standards and compliance.
  • Complete training administration, scheduling, and record management within SuccessFactors.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or a current Assessor Skill Set.
  • Demonstrated operational knowledge and experience within an Ore Processing Facility, including:
    • Permit to Work systems
    • Isolation Level 1 & Level 2
    • Conveyors
    • Crushing
    • Desands
    • Dry Screening
    • Stackers
    • Scrubbing and Screening
    • Thickeners and Tailings
  • Previous experience operating comparable processing plant equipment.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • High Risk Work Licences:
    • DG (Dogging)
    • LF (Forklift)
    • WP (Elevating Work Platform)
  • Current National Units of Competency for:
    • Work Safely at Heights
    • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
    • Gas Test Atmospheres
    • Telescopic Handler
    • Overhead Gantry Crane
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SuccessFactors.
