About the Role
This role will be offered on a 12 month Fixed Term or Secondment.
This role is either Residential Port Hedland 5:2 or fly-in fly-out from Perth to Port Hedland on a 5:2 4:3 or 4:3 roster.
Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia.
The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms. Additionally you will have access to the state of the art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
The function of the Training Coordinator is to provide support to the Rail Network Maintenance (RNM) teams.
Reporting to the Electrical & Training Supervisor RNM, you will be responsible for the management of the Technical Capability and Training competency processes and be a key enabler to continual improvement within the training team.
In this role you will:
- Liaise with customers to ensure their training needs are met including completion of training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Management and review of training packages
- Networking with other Trainer Assessors within rail to rescore and schedule training
- Working with external vendors to schedule required training
- Running Training Reports
- Driving key continuous improvement initiatives within the training team
- Managing the technical capability development matrix and associated training pathways

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Excellent computer skills
- Previous experience in training desirable but not essential
- Sound communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and customers
- Work well in a team environment
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Solid written and verbal communication skills including good technical writing ability
