About GEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is a South32 Company, the operation is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.
This role is a 4:3 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns or can be offered as residential on a full-time ongoing basis.
About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Health, Safety & Training, you will partner with the assigned business unit to manage effective learning & development outcomes for employees and contractors, ensure department compliance with approved skills matrix and deliver outcomes to support the business plan.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Provide equipment and skills-based training and competencies to local traditional owners which can be taken back to empower local communities
- Provide learning, literacy, and numeracy support to Indigenous Trainees
- Deliver workplace training & conduct assessments for key stakeholders across site
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement
- Conduct workplace safety interactions & observations
About you
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Experience working in Forestry, Parks & Gardens or similar
- Medium or Heavy Rigid vehicle licence
- High risk licence – EWP & LF minimum requirement
- Cert IV Training & Assessment, Enterprise Trainer Assessor or experience working as a Trainer Assessor (desirable)
