ABOUT IMC

Illawarra Metallurgical Coal produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent full-time position based at the Appin mine, which is near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

Reporting to the Superintendent Safety, Risk & Training, you will support the operation with implementation, coordination and facilitation of various training requirements. You will also partner with the operation to ensure site and role compliance, maintain site training system to the required standard, and provide advice and support to site trainer assessors.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Conduct regular internal training audits including training records management
  • Analyse training reports to identify gaps and develop plans to address
  • Manage site compliance reporting, ensuring accurate data is available for lead team, supervisors and workers at all times
  • Coordinate the annual training plan to align with the site Training Needs Analysis
  • Maintain a 90-training schedule, integrated into the mine planning system

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Extensive experience working with learning management systems
  • Experience working in mining or heavy industry (highly desirable)
  • Experience coordinating and facilitation small & large group training
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Problem solving skills with an eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information in an engaging and effective manner, across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience leading / managing people (desired)

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40116 (preferred)
  • RIIRIS402 Carry out Risk Management Processes (G2)
