About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced training professional to join the Mount Arthur Coal Training team. 

This role will be based at our Mt Arthur Coal site Monday-Friday (with flexibility) and can be offered as residential in the beautiful Hunter Valley region.

BHP can provide relocation support to the region.

Key focus will be the effective creation, maintenance and provision of training services in line with the business plan requirements.

The successful applicant will have responsibilities of the development of new training content, materials and methodologies for the delivery of on the job and occupational training.  The maintenance of learning materials, documentation and process, as well as monitoring, evaluating, and improving training plans for site. 

You will be a champion in the use of the learning management system and have a commitment to further develop skills, experience, and relationships within Mount Arthur Coal operational areas. 

Your industry skills and experience will ensure that the development of training materials are well-planned and that business needs are met in an efficient and timely manner. 

The successful applicant will be expected to provide advice as the subject matter expert on legislative training and licensing requirements, whilst providing a customer focused advisory service.

About You

You will ideally hold as a minimum a Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment, alternatively a Diploma in Training Design & Development / Vocational Education & Training is desirable.

Working knowledge of the current skills packages required for the Coal Industry or have exposure to working in an aligned heavy industry or rail.

You will bring to this team your sound and proven experience content design & development, with strategies supported by an understanding of national training packages.

You will be an experienced facilitator across a broad spectrum of content being comfortable teaching colleagues of all levels within the organisation.  You will also be a natural coach to other Trainers and Assessors offering support to those new to the skill.

Previous experience in Leaning Management Systems (Success Factors) within the Mining/Mineral industry will be advantageous.

You will be results driven, focused, and have the ability to bring out the best in others and have strong communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships across site to achieve excellence.

A current driver’s license is required for this role.
