TRAINING SUPERVISOR
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Supervisor to join the team at Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) who will lead the management and maintenance of the site Training Competency Management Scheme in alignment with legislation and Yancoal’s values and objectives. This role reports to the Manager Health, Safety and Training.

We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
As the Training Supervisor, you will be responsible for: • Developing and revising Training materials in alignment with the Training and Competency Management Scheme; • Apply alignment of training materials and processes to the 2001 Coal Act- Order 34 Guidelines and National Unit of Competency framework; • Develop and review Training Needs Analysis in alignment with company needs and objectives; • Develop Strategies for maintenance of employee’s skills; • Consult with relevant departments to achieve shared out-comes; • Prepare budgets and forecasting of training needs; and • Supervise the training team.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes: • Previous experience in a similar role preferably in the Mining Industry / Heaving Industry; • Certificate IV Training and Assessing (TAA/TAE) or equivalent; • A proven ability for one on one and group training facilitation and presentation; • Experience in designing and implementing training packages; • Strong communication and collaboration skills; • Strong time management skills; • A positive and proactive attitude; • Demonstrate strong leadership skills; • Knowledge and experience in Surface Coal Mine Operations (desirable); and • Previous training experience with Coal Services Order 34 Guidelines (desirable).
