About the role

We are looking for a Transmission Engineer to provide expert level technical support (level 2 and 3) for the transmission network comprising of PDH, SDH, DWDM, Microwave PTP/PTMP equipment.
As part of the requirements of this role, you will be participating in an on-call roster.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer Network Level 2 and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our IS&T (Information System & Technology) function, you will:
- Engage with vendors on complex faults, migration and project works
- Identify and analyse problems on the production network and determine the most appropriate means of reducing, controlling and eliminating problems and improve availability
- Support various NMS and OSS network management systems
- Involve in Projects to Operations Service Transition Process
- Engage with equipment vendors for complex faults
- Maintain up to date information about configuration Items and their associations required to deliver telecommunications services
- Participate in Factory and System Acceptance Tests
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A Tertiary Degree in Networking, Computer Engineering or related course
- Several years of experience in telecommunications with Transmission Networks
- Excellent knowledge in PDH, SDH, DWDM, Microwave and Wireless P2P/P2MP Radios
- High level of problem-solving capability
- Effective communication and reporting skills
- Sound knowledge of ITIL principles and processes
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience working with Network Management Systems such as Nokia NFM-P & NFM-T, CNMS_NG, Ericsson SO_EM and IPTNMS
- Experience working with vendor equipment such as Nokia Dynanet, Nokia DWDM, Erricsson SPO/OMS, Ceragon Radio and Nokia MPR
