Managed by Yancoal, Premier Coal is the leading coal producer in Western Australia.  Operating an open cut coal mine near Collie in the South West of WA, the operation produces coal for the domestic market with contracts to 2030.

About the Role

Working a 4 days on, 4 days off, 12 hour shift roster. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and you will be part of a supportive and motivated team. The role will require you to:

• Carry out heavy vehicle(HV) and light vehicle (LV) tyre fitting duties.
• Maintain compliance with all procedures and manufacturer's instructions relating to the service and repair of plant and equipment on Premier Coal mine site.
• Update SAP work orders as jobs are completed
• Update Otracom with rim and tyre data to track and manage components for compliance and the the driving of accurate scheduling of change outs / re certifications.
• Prepare and/or order parts where required.
• Ensure all tooling if fit for purpose.
• Instruct and mentor less experienced members in how to care for plant and equipment.
• Provide maintenance support, advise and assistance to other stakeholders as required to ensure all maintenance requirements have been met on schedule.

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

• Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology of equivalent
• Minimum 12 months experience working as a tyre fitter working on heavy mining equipment
• Previous experience in the mining industry
• Current WA 'C" class drivers licence
• A sound understanding of risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety, performance and suitable practices.
• The ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience with open cut mining operations
• Experience with business improvement processes
