Tyre Fitter

About the role: An opportunity exists for an experienced Tyre Fitter with a strong safety focus to join our Wilpinjong Mine.  Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometers northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

You will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the successful performance of the mine along with the following duties:  

• Mechanical maintenance and tyre repairs on light, medium and heavy vehicles performed in a safe and productive manner
• Tread depth measurements, pressure readings and inspections on all heavy earthmoving Mobile Equipment
• Actively participate in effective shift change over’s and shift Pre-Starts
• Complete a detailed written hand over at the end of each shift
• Be an active participant in the Continuous Improvement Program
• Conduct site hazard reports
• Minimise production downtime in the event of breakdowns and scheduled maintenance by using effective shift planning techniques

This position is offered on a family-friendly rotating panel roster with a mix of days and nights, which is suited to a residential lifestyle in nearby Mudgee district.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Proactive role in setting and maintaining a high safety standard
• Minimum of 3 years tyre fitting experience in the mining industry
• RIISAM210A remove and fit wheel assemblies or equivalent
• RIISAM211B Remove, repair and fit tyres or equivalent
• RIIHAN201A Operate a forklift
• Cert 2 in Heavy Vehicle Tyre Fitting
• Experience in Tyre Maintenance Systems
