About the Role
Daunia Mine located in Central Queensland has an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals to join the maintenance department. Having the right people working within our organisation focusing on our maintenance will allow us to unlock the value of our assets by ensuring that we have reliable equipment, predictable operations and a safe work environment for our people. This opportunity is being offered on a 7 on, 7 off day/night roster with Fly-in-Fly-Out & Drive-In-Drive-Out travel options available. The successful candidate will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results. Demonstrating a strong focus on safety, your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Reporting to the Tyre Bay Supervisor, your duties will include:
- Inspection of tyres and related components (e.g. rims) - checking for signs of damage and wear;
- Replacing Heavy Vehicle, Medium Vehicle and Light Vehicle Tyres;
- Air pressure inspections;
- Measuring tread depths;
- Conducting period end checks of site fleet;
- Performing monthly stock takes within required guidelines;
- Embracing and supporting the maintenance departments planning strategy regarding work order management and defect elimination;
- Ensuring all relevant documents are submitted efficiently and accurately on time for processing;
- Ability and willingness to conduct other tasks when required.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace
- Willingness to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability,
- Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate into new teams and a focus on teamwork
- housekeeping and compliance with site procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ‘C’ Class Driver’s license
- FORKLIFT HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE / TYRE HANDLER EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years tyre fitting experience in the mining industry
- Cert 2 in Heavy Vehicle Tyre Fitting
- Demonstrated experience in Tyre Maintenance Systems (TMS)
- Experience with working on and around Autonomous haulage fleets would be highly regarded, but not essential.
