About the role: An opportunity exists for an experienced Tyre Supervisor to join our Coppabella Moorvale Mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay producing coking and low to mid-volatile PCI coal for export markets. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for all day to day mine activities in compliance with all relevant statutes by providing leadership to achieve safe and effective production.   

You will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the successful performance of the mine along with the following duties:  

  • Providing practical input into the content of all short and long term maintenance plans
  • Providing leadership, motivation and support to all roster, and day night shift team members, taking accountability for team performance including contractors
  • Promoting a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost saving initiatives
  • Conduct site hazard reports, and complete Safe Behaviour Observations
  • Promote and enforce safe and efficient work practices
  • Use problem solving skills combined with self-motivation to focus on developing solutions and plans to challenges presented in the workplace  

About the candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Experience in a leadership position
  • Minimum 5 years with Heavy Equipment Tyre Fitting
  • Cert 2 in Heavy Vehicle Tyre Fitting
  • Experience in Tyre Maintenance Systems
  • Recognized as a Safety Leader
  • Experience in applying best practice maintenance techniques to optimize equipment availability
  • Experience in SAP maintenance applications will be advantageous. 
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety
