At Cadia you will play a part in the expansion of our Tier 1 operation developing Cadia into one of the largest, safest, most cost effective and technologically advanced block caving mines in the world. Currently we are undertaking stage three of Cadia’s mine life strategy by further developing our underground mine to include its 3rd panel, as well as increasing our ore handling and processing capability.

As a company we are highly skilled at identifying and turning large-scale deposits into Tier 1 assets with one of the lowest all-in sustaining costs in the mining industry. Operations near and far

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by winery’s, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector with a modern well-equipped regional hospital, excellent educational facilities, shopping, large selection of sport and recreation options, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we’re looking for

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest for UG Mechanical Technicians – TA’s to join the CE Fixed Plant Maintenance Team.

Reporting to Supervisor - UG Mechanical FPM, you will be responsible for assisting the team with preventative and breakdown maintenance of all Fixed Plant equipment, including in general plant maintenance, shutdowns, fault-finding, and project work.

You must be ready to learn with a mechanical mindset. This is your opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills as you assist our technicians with the maintenance of equipment in a reliable and cost-effective manner.

As the ideal candidate, you will be energetic, hardworking and enjoy following procedures. While you will appreciate being part of a busy team, you will enjoy working autonomously when required and will add real value to the business through your ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently.

The key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

• Demonstrate a strong commitment by performing Safe Work execution utilising Newcrest’s Critical Control Management framework and embedding our New Safe Behaviours into your activities to achieve our goal of zero fatalities or life altering injuries.
• Assist in the operation and cleaning of crushers, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, ventilation systems, pumps and more
• Willingness to learn and be a part of a team
• Work in a diverse and inclusive environment to help achieve Cadia’s vision of a 50-year future

Please note: This is a permanent role based in Orange, NSW on a 7D/7X roster.
