Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport, and other services such as childcare.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking motivated and hardworking Underground Mine Technicians to join our close-knit team at Cadia. Reporting to the Supervisor – UG Mine Development, this role is responsible for the safe and productive operation of an Underground Development Loader for the purpose of bogging development cuts and loading of trucks from the Underground Mine. The Development loader Operator may also carry out additional tasks as required (e.g. mine services work, charge-up, bogging, service checks).
Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:
- Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
- Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.
- Undertake specific tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a positive team player with excellent work ethics and a can-do attitude. You will appreciate being part of a collaborative team and foster continuous improvement through your excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Proven track record in promoting and managing Safety in the workplace
- Experience in operating Development Loader and sound knowledge of underground Metaliferus mining.
- Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role.
- Results orientated with a commitment to delivering planned outcomes consistent with ‘Safe Production’.
- Possess current Explosives Clearance Licence
- Manual C Class Driver's License is required
Please note: This is a residential role, fixed term until 30th November 2025. You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
