Who we’re looking for
We are seeking motivated and hardworking Underground Mine Technicians to join our close-knit Production team at Cadia. Reporting to the Supervisor – UG Mine Production, this role is responsible for the safe and productive operation of a loader, as well as additional tasks as required, (e.g. mine services work, secondary break charge up, automation bogging, roadway install).
Key deliverables of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures, i.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
- Ensure all incidents, near misses and hazards are reported to the Shift Supervisor.
- Safe and efficient Production Loader operation.
- Specific tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor.
- Assisting to maintain efficient operation of the production level.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a positive team player with excellent work ethics and a can do attitude. You will appreciate being part of a collaborative team and foster continuous improvement through your excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Proven track record in promoting and managing safety in the workplace
- Experience in operating underground loaders and sound knowledge of underground Metalliferous mining.
- Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role.
- Results orientated with a commitment to delivering planned outcomes consistent with ‘Safe Production’.
- BUEL desirable
- Manual C Class Driver's License is required
Please note: You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
All successful applicants will be required to undertake mandatory police, working rights, qualification (if applicable) and medical checks.
