Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport, and other services such as childcare.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking motivated and hardworking Underground Mine Technicians to join our close-knit team at Cadia. Reporting to the Supervisor – Development, this role is responsible for installation of development infrastructure which may include:
- Installation and maintenance of mining services, ventilation ducting and comms cables.
- The inspection and planning of these installations.
- Some building of ventilation walls, concreting, installation of secondary fans and building of small structures.
- Service Crew Operators may also carry out additional tasks as required
Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:
- Promote and maintain a culture of safe and efficient project delivery by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities, i.e. OCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
- Understating and maintaining the standards expected in the underground environment.
- Ensure all incidents, near miss events and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.
- Undertake specific tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a positive team player with excellent work ethic and a can-do attitude. You will appreciate being part of a small collaborative team and foster continuous improvement through your excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
In addition, you will also ideally have:
- Proven track record in promoting and managing Safety in the workplace
- Proven experience in Underground Metalliferous mining (1-3 Years)
- Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role.
- Self-motivated to escalate and help resolve issues associated with your role.
- Results orientated with a commitment to delivering planned outcomes consistent with our project values
- The technical capability to install mine services to a high standard. A trade qualifications in welding, steel fabrication or building trades would be highly regarded.
Please note:
This is a residential role, fixed term until 30th November 2025.
You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
For highly experience candidates FIFO/DIDO options can be discussed.
