Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

This role is a key position within the Mining Projects team who are responsible for the development of the future caves at Cadia. This includes PC2-3 which has started undercutting and PC1-2 which has commenced development activities.
This is an incredible opportunity with many unique development opportunities available to test the right candidate including helping to construct mass excavation and the management of material movement underground.
Who we're looking for
Reporting to the Development Foreman, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated Supervisor to lead and support a new team accountable for the Haulage and Logistical support of the mine plan. This includes but is not limited to the management of underground load and haulage operations and road maintenance.
The preferred candidate must hold a NSW Mine Supervisors Practicing Certificate and have extensive knowledge of the mining cycle.
You will also have the following:
- A Proven track record in promoting and managing safety in the workplace.
- Extensive experience in development and support activities
- Demonstrated experience in the scheduling of equipment and personnel to maximise efficiencies to achieves weekly plan outcomes.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with operational departments to maximise outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all incidents, near misses and hazards are reported, escalated and investigated.
- Driving standards and quality of the responsible work area and assisting other teams where required
- Promote and maintain a culture of safe development through effective supervision
- Create a Shift Plan that achieves the Weekly Schedule requirements.
- People Management of a large crew including performance, leave management and building a strong culture.
- Responsible for achieving daily, weekly and monthly budget and schedule outcomes.
Please note:
This position is based in Orange, NSW on a 7/7 roster, days and nights.
FIFO and DIDO options will be considered for the right candidate and will be offered on a maximum term contract through to November 2025. Permanent opportunity for those seeking a residential position.
