Underground Communications Technician

Byrnecut is seeking an experienced Underground Mine Communication Technician for our SA Operations. 

With over 5,500 employees, the Byrnecut Group is a full-service underground mining contractor, providing services to major mine owners throughout Australia and Internationally. We operate a multi-million dollar fleet of specialised underground mining equipment across multiple continents and conditions.

Requirements

• Underground mining experience preferred but not essential
• Communications Trade Certificate or Western Australian Electrical Licence
• ACMA Open Cabling Registration
• Optical Fibre Cabling Endorsement
• Structured Cabling Endorsement
• Experience in two-way radio leaky feeder systems
• High level communications equipment installation standards
• Knowledge of electronic blasting systems preferred but not essential
• First Aid Certificate
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• The successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment criteria including a full Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening prior to an Offer of Employment being made

Duties

• Installing underground communication reticulation systems
• Performing routine and breakdown maintenance on underground communication reticulation systems
• Performing scheduled maintenance and statutory testing and inspections
• Installing and maintaining underground blasting systems cabling
