About The Role
Our Narrabri Underground team are looking for an experienced Deputy with strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to lead the shift crew in all planned mining activities. On offer for the right candidate is an attractive annual salary $243-$248k + 20% bonus + heavily subsidised camp accommodation, DIDO with current rosters of 4 days p/wk & 3 days p/wk.
What You’ll Do
- Focus on achieving and driving agreed production targets
- Safety and maintenance schedules in accordance with statutory, and site regulations
- Ensuring all crews are following HSEC policies and procedures
- Monitoring crew compliance with audit standards & safe procedures
- Perform statutory and compliance inspections in accordance with legislation
- Liaise with engineers, statutory officials and tradesmen to ensure legislative requirements are met
- Training and assessing employees on mine equipment
- Facilitate crew/shift communications including Toolbox Talks/Pre-start meetings
What You’ll Bring
To be successful we are looking for the following qualifications, attributes and experience from you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Longwall Mining
- NSW Deputies certificate of competency
- Cert IV Underground Coal Mining
- Cert IV OH&S Workplace Safety (desirable)
- Ability to promote a positive safety culture within the mine
- Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet production targets
