the Underground Electrician is responsible for providing quality, timely preventative maintenance and repairs to underground mining infrastructure, radio and telemetry network facilities, and other operational areas.

Deflector Site Overview:
Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits.
Reporting to the UG Electrical Supervisor, the UG Electrician is responsible for providing quality, timely preventative maintenance and repairs to underground mining infrastructure, radio and telemetry network facilities, and other operational areas.

Key Responsibilities of this Role Will Include:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on underground mining infrastructure, radio, and telemetry network facilities
- Ensure all electrical activities are completed to the highest standard and in compliance with site and statutory regulations
- Support efficient operation of production facilities by minimising downtime and loss of production
- Conduct quality fault finding, diagnostics, and accurate fault diagnosis
- Prioritise and respond quickly to urgent breakdowns impacting production or safety
- Ensure all installations comply with site electrical standards and statutory requirements
- Maintain exemplary housekeeping and actively participate in safety initiatives, incident/accident reporting, and emergency preparedness
- Manage department paperwork, ensuring all logbooks and work orders are completed and returned to the Electrical Supervisor
- Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams, providing accurate handover notes and participating in shift change meetings
About You:
- Underground electrical mining experience
- WA “A” Class Electrical Workers Licence
- WA Manual Driver’s Licence (C-Class)
- St Johns Senior First Aid Certificate
- High Voltage Switching Operations (desirable)
- Crane, Dogging, EWP, and Forklift Tickets (desirable)
