About the role: We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Fitters at our Wambo Mine. Our Wambo mine complex is an underground mine located 30 kilometers west of Singleton that produce metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets. Your role will be to routinely inspect, repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in line with production requirements and safe operating procedures.
Duties will include:
- Demonstrate safe behaviours and practices
- Contribute to the achievement of production targets, ensuring they are met safely and efficiently
- Perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks on all underground equipment
- Fault-finding and repairing mechanical plant and equipment
- Operate equipment as required
- Ensure all work is performed to trade standards and meets high standards
- Complete necessary documentation, planning sheets and work orders
The lifestyle: This position will be offered to align with current site roster arrangements of 3 x 12 hour shifts per week (Day shift or Night Shift as required under the needs of the business).

About you:
- Experience working in underground mining operations (ideally 12 months +)
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to participate in risk assessments and manage risk
- Strong commitment to safety as a way of life
- Reliable
- Mechanical trade qualifications
- Experience with Joy/Komatsu LW and Development equipment will be highly regarded
