Underground Operator

About the role: We are currently seeking Underground Operators at our Wambo mine.  Our Wambo mine complex is a combined Coal Handling & Preparation Plant and Underground mine located 30 kilometres west of Singleton that produce coal for export and domestic markets. 

The scope of your role will be to work effectively within a team to meet safety and production targets.

Duties will include:

• Operation of mining equipment to achieve production targets, ensuring they are met safely and efficiently
• Demonstrate safe behaviours and practices
• Ensure all work is performed to site standards
• Participate and complete on the job risk management
• Participate in investigations as required

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a fixed roster of 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week (Day shift or Night Shift as required under the needs of the business).

About you:

• Experience working in underground mining operations (ideally 12 months +)
• Underground competencies and abilities (Longwall and Development)
• Commitment to achievement of business objectives
• Be an effective communicator and team player 
• A strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environment workplace standards
• A strong safety and risk management focus 
• Reliable
• NSW Deputy practicing certificate will be highly regarded
