Underground Operators

Location

Cannington is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometers west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Cannington mine provides resort style onsite accommodation with laundry and meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

About the role

We are currently seeking applications from motivated individuals to fill the below positions:

• Experienced Jumbo operators
  • Proven experience operating SANDVIK Rigs
  • Minimum 5+ years on a jumbo

• Experienced Service crew
  • Operation of Integrated Tool Carrier 
  • Install, maintain, and repair all underground services e.g.: air/water, ventilation bags, temporary electrical cables, submersible pumps in sumps, Mono pumps
  • Assist with the construction of ventilation walls
  • Plate and tension of cable bolts
  • Safely use hand tools to undertake certain tasks
  • 18 Months of Underground experience essential

• Experienced Haulage operators
  • Truck,
  • loader
  • and tele remote loader roles

• Experienced Paste crew
  • Installation and maintenance of Paste reticulation lines
  • Operation of underground mobile plant including light vehicles, and IT’s
  • Construction of paste walls

The roles are available as full-time permanent on 7/7 roster, 12.5hrs Dayshift/Nightshift. Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane or Drive-in/Drive-out from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.
