Underground Production Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Underground Mining Supervisor to lead a combined owner operator and contract Production team. Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a large amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mining, the role is offered on a permanent basis, on an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane, DIDO from Mt Isa.

This role is based in a challenging and exciting environment and results in a wide range of duties including:

• Provide a safe & effective leadership to underground operations
• Provide a supportive and collaborative coordination to underground operations
• Ensuring all aspects of the mining operations meet safety, quality, environmental, regulatory and operational requirements
• Frontline leadership and people management of Production stream
• Conduct, lead and participate in safety investigations and risk assessments
• Oversee the daily operation of underground crew and equipment
• Conduct tool box meetings, carry out inspections and provide training

About you

• Experience in leading an underground mining team
• Knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
• Minimum 2+ years experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor
• Demonstrate initiative and be able to motivate crews
• A strong focus on and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Must have the right to work in Australia;
