Underground Shift Supervisor

Daisy Milano Gold mine is an underground, narrow vein Gold mine with a rich history spanning more than 20 years of operation, and over 1 million ounces mined to date. With multiple mining fronts operational at any given time, Daisy continues to surpass expectations as the flagship mine of the Mount Monger Operations.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for dependable and committed Underground Shift Supervisor to join our Mining team at the Daisy Milano underground mine, located approximately 50 kms south-east of Kalgoorlie. You will be responsible for first line supervision of the Contractor mining workforce, ensuring mining activities are delivered to production schedules, and to a high standard of safety. Reporting to the Mining Foreman, you will foster strong working relationships and a "one team" approach to delivering on mining targets.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Effective communication of daily priorities, targets and critical information to the mining workforce
• Ensure the operating crew are working to their optimum performance level
• Ensuring all development profiles, dimensions, grade and direction of jumbo headings mined as per the mine plans
• Oversee safety compliance to ensure all activities are conducted in line with safe systems of work
• Ensure any safety issues are reported and addressed promptly, assisting with any investigations that may be required
• Coordinate underground activities to ensure access to required areas and consistent operations are maintained
• Conduct required Statutory and general checks as required
• Ensure ground support is installed as per the ground support standard
• Conducting Daily Checks of the Portables Refuge Chambers located in the Mine
• Act in the place of the Mine Foreman as required

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for a motivated individual who can build and maintain professional relationships in a dynamic mine environment within a small team.

In addition to this, you must have:

• Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency
• Minimum of 3+ years in an Underground Shift Supervisor role
• Current C Class driver’s license and Senior First Aid Certificate
• HR drivers and High Risk licenses will be highly regarded; and
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office suite with INX experience preferred

This position is offered on a 7:7 Day Shift & Night Shift roster, and is ideally suited to a Kalgoorlie resident. FIFO from Perth will be considered for the right person.
