Who we’re looking for: 

We are currently seeking an Underground Mobile Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team based at Cadia Valley operations (CVO) during an exciting period of transformation. Reporting into the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent, the primary purpose of this position is to supervise and develop the fleet maintenance team to maintain Ridgeway’s mobile fleet effectively and safely in all facets of maintenance and within budget guidelines.

Other key responsibilities include:

Aligning with and embedding Newcrest’s safety culture, values, and behaviours within your crew.

  • Ensuring compliance to CVO site safety processes and procedures for self and fleet maintenance personnel.
  • Implementation and management of the fundamental maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures to manage Ridgeway Mobile Fleet.
  • Oversee and assist with performing preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance and daily servicing on a wide variety of mobile equipment.
  • Fostering pride in continuous improvement of safety site wide and milestones achieved.
  • Working closely with all fleet maintenance personnel to ensure clear task direction is achieved and any deviation from plan has effective controls in place to ensure risks.
  • Liaising with other departmental areas (Fleet Maintenance, Production, Fixed Plant, and multiple service providers).
  • Provide leadership and coaching to crews through training and development of knowledge and skills.

Through excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, you will support your crew by coaching, mentoring, and guiding them, work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, operational and commercial outcomes and apply a pro-active problem-solving approach to issues that arise.

You will also possess the following:

  • Underground Mine Supervisors Certificate.
  • Significant experience in underground mining with demonstrated prior experience as a Mine Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with statutory duties in accordance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • Experience in supervising teams, fostering high-performance with a growth mindset to continuously improve.
  • Computer literacy, ideally with SAP and Microsoft Office suite.

Please note:  You will be initially required to work a 5D/2X roster before moving onto a 7/7 roster. You will also be eligible for a 5D/2X/4D/3X roster.
