Location

Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate.  The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences and plenty to keep you entertained - take the heat off at the end of the day and head to the Olympic sized pool - or join in a regular social game of sports, there is a health and fitness center, other social activities including movie nights, a race-course and even an 18 hole golf course. Employees either commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster or live residentially within the township of Leinster, consisting of approximately 1000 residents.

About the Role

As a Supervisor within the Mobile Maintenance Underground team at Leinster Mine working in a world class 10 level underground workshop, you will have the opportunity to support and guide a talented underground maintenance team to managing the safe and cost effective maintenance on our large fleet underground mobile fleet of mobile equipment, in order to ensure availability, performance and integrity.   Our mobile equipment includes and is not limited to DD421 Sandvik Jumbo’s, 7 x MT065 EPIROC Trucks ,  water cart, 2900 CAT loaders, brand new K Series CAT loaders , CAT Graders and 8 x Volvo integrated tool carries.  Our successful candidate will lead, coach and mentor a team of approx.19 team members on shift which include HD Fitters, Auto Electricians, Drill Fitters, Trade Assistants, various Service Support roles, HV Electrician and Apprentices.  This opportunity is being offered on a 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights and 7 off roster.  

Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance Underground, your duties will include:  

•    Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety & environment •    Setting and clearly communicating targets and expectations •    Lead people effectively through engage active leadership methods and  •    Overseeing, coaching and mentoring employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team •    Managing the planning, scheduling and execution of all Mining Mobile Equipment Maintenance work •    Ensuring reporting systems are kept up to date •    Ensuring the tooling and equipment required for maintenance work are in good working condition •    Reviewing and monitoring maintenance performance on a daily and weekly basis •    Supervisor is responsible and accountable for both planned and unplanned maintenance using SAP  •    Facilitating continuous improvements through gap closing action plans coming from lessons learnt  •    Developing, communicating and executing the Mining mobile Equipment Maintenance work plan •    Contractor Management frame work, assisting with the monitoring of our Contractor Partners work activities.

About You

Ideally as our successful candidate you will have:  

•    A genuine commitment to safety •    Experience leading and mentoring teams and an ability to provide leadership and development of supervisory staff •    Proven experience improving your team’s technical capacity in a Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance environment •    Significant experience in a similar role, leading teams is desirable  •    Demonstrated time in the mining sector in a OEM or workshop based leadership role, would be advantageous  •    Trade qualification within an equivalent industry would be an advantageous   •    Current full "C" class motor vehicle license is essential  •    Diploma in Frontline Management and qualification in Six Sigma are ideal but not essential or state are desirable  •    Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations •    Solid technical experience within maintenance in a mining business •    Systems knowledge of maintenance processes (e.g. Work management, reliability, information management, cost control and budgeting processes).
