Utilities Technical Officer

About the RoleWe’re seeking an experienced and motivated Utilities Technical Officer to join the utilities operations in Weipa and Amrun. This is a residential role working a 4,5,4 roster, ideal for someone looking to live and work in the vibrant Weipa community. You’ll be responsible for supporting a team of skilled tradespeople to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of our utilities infrastructure and play a critical role in developing the future strategy for the utilities function at Weipa operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review day-to-day operations of the LV workshop, fuel, water, waste water and tailings assets ensuring safety and productivity.
  • Optimising scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Budget development and cost control of Utilities operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor and report on workshop performance, KPIs, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Co-ordination and development of capital projects

About You

  • Trade qualification/Engineering degree in relevant discipline (desirable but not essential).
  • Proven experience in a maintenance team in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety systems and maintenance planning.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Proficient in maintenance systems (e.g. SAP, AMT, or similar).
  • Current manual driver’s licence.
