Vent & Projects Engineer

The role of the Ventilation & Projects Engineer is a multifaceted role, focusing on the design, planning, and execution of projects related to infrastructure development and improvement within the mining environment. The primary focus of the role is Project Management of underground mining infrastructure and assorted improvement projects to ensure safe and efficient execution and implementation. The role comprises a statutory ventilation position in accordance with WHS obligations and responsibilities.

• Responsible for the monitoring and reporting for underground mine primary and secondary ventilation circuits
• Ensure all statutory vent surveys and vent instructions are conducted and regulatory requirements compliant
• Communicating with underground operators with regards to ventilation installations and usage
• Strategy - analysis of mining methods and improvement projects for ventilation
• Planning – ventilation requirements of level extraction plans, level plans, infrastructure design, work instructions etc
• Projects – Management and monitoring of underground infrastructure projects, ensuring that the highest technical and safety standards are maintained

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification as a Mining Engineer • Qualifications as Ventilation Officer under the Current WA Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Desirable) • Demonstrated experience in underground mine ventilation management and control • Proficient user of mine planning software such as Deswik and Ventsim • Ventilation planning, monitoring and reporting • Strong problem solving, organisational and time management skills • Current “C” Class Western Australian driver’s license,
