Ashton - Owned by Yancoal, Ashton is an underground mine and coal handling preparation plant located in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Ventilation Officer to join our Technical Services team at Ashton Coal Operation. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Ventilation Officer is responsible for the day to day effectiveness of the ventilation arrangements at the Mine.

Some key duties and tasks will include;

• Providing technical support to the operation with regard to ventilation in areas of the mine planning, gas drainage, mine scheduling and operations systems and procedures
• Support the identification of improvements in mining processes and methods
• Contractor management

Skills and Experience

• UNSW Ventilation Officer Certificate
• Current practicing certificate that allows the practising of the role of Statutory Ventilation Officer at an Underground Coal Mine.
• Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering (desirable)
• Certificate of Competency Deputy (desirable)
• Minimum 5 years' experience the same or similar position
